Piedmont Green Power (PGP) is a 55 MW biomass-fired power plant located in Barnesville, GA that started commercial operations in 2013. Pacolet acquired PGP in December 2023. PGP sells power – generated from approximately 600,000 tons of wood waste biomass feedstock – to Georgia Power under a long-term power purchase agreement. PGP qualifies as a source of renewable power under federal and state standards and sells renewable energy credits on the open market.
